IVSC Presentation - An Overview of the International Valuation Standards and a Bridge from IVS to USPAP: 2026 Conference
Includes a Live Web Event on 10/28/2026 at 10:30 AM (EDT)
This session gives an overview of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) and the International Valuation Standards (IVS). It first introduces the IVSC's mission, its global stakeholders and its boards of more than 130 experts from nearly 40 countries. It then explains how IVS (effective 31 January 2025) is structured: six General Standards that follow the valuation process, supported by Asset Standards for specific types of assets and liabilities.
The session then looks ahead to the IVS Exposure Draft for 31 January 2028, including the consultation timetable, who responded and the main themes raised. The main proposals include a new IVS 107 on Quality Controls, requirements on technology and artificial intelligence, and disclosure of valuation ranges. There are also revisions to the business valuation standard covering capital structure, scenario-based methods and calibration, and new physical inspection requirements for plant, equipment and real property.
The final part draws on A Bridge from USPAP to IVS, published jointly by The Appraisal Foundation and the IVSC, to compare IVS with USPAP. It closes with an introduction to the IVSC Perspectives Papers.
